Upper Marlboro, MD (April 1, 2019)—
On Thursday, March 28,2019 BUILD Prince George’s hosted its launch party at the beautiful 30-acre Lake Presidential Golf Club.
Over 200 hundred people attended the event and which noted several guest speakers including: Dr. Monica Goldson, Interim CEO of Prince George’s County Schools; Delegate Darryl Barnes, 25th Legislative District and Chair of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland; Delegate Jazz Lewis, 24th Legislative District, At-Large County Councilmember Mel Franklin; and David Harrington, President and CEO of the Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce.
The event was capped by a special presentation in which Councilmember Mel Franklin donated five thousand dollars to the BUILD Capacity Development Fund. David Harrington also announced a pending partnership between the Chamber and BUILD to work collaboratively on issues that matter most to our business members. Details of the partnership will be announced in coming months.
